About the institution
Hospital San Martin de Porres is an institution run by a group of Priests and nuns, and since it’s foundation it has helped people with low economic resources.
Located right in the centre, Hospital San Martin de Porres is a relatively well equipped hospital, with good reputation.
Most of the patients at San Martin de Porres are young, pregnant women that in most of the cases, can’t afford to go to a private clinic due to its costs.
They have an emergency room and many specialists to help patients treat their health problems.
Most of the patients that go to Hospital Martin de Porres are pregnant women.
Description of the work
At San Martín de Porres you’ll be able to do nurse work, help in the social work area, talking to the patients and giving information, and depending on your level of medicine knowledge, you may also be able to help at medical procedures, diagnose patients and other issues within the Hospital.
Note: In order to work actively in the medicine field, you will need to provide certified documentation that shows you’ve studied medicine for at least four years.
Keep in mind:
You will have the opportunity to arrange your own timetable but you need to be punctual and dedicated to your work when you first have made an agreement with Hospital San Martin de Porres.
Time: Minimum four week time requirement.

- An introduction meeting where you will get to know the Institution, the program, and set your goals in the field you’d be interested.
- Frequent assessments and evaluations.
- A certificate at the end of your volunteer work period.

Costs: $5 USD per week.
