Elderly Volunteering (1 program)
Fundación Ecologica Mazan (FEM)
About the institution
FEM is a NGO that started working in 1992, their main goals are recovering, conserving and maintaining native Andean ecosystems, raise awareness in small communities about ecology, waste handling, water conservation and economic growth.
Probably one of the best things the centre does is helping farmers with knowledge about agroecology and how they can make the best out of their crops, this has allowed many a community to grow economically and start new projects to help each other.
FEM has also started a few gender programs, going to small villages or indigenous communities to educate women and make them realize about their potentials. Among the achievements of FEM are, educating women to become leaders of their communities, handling issues such as economy, water or general organization of the community.
