Hogar Miguel Leon is an orphanage run by a group of priests and nuns.
It houses girls from 7 to 18 years old, their primary goal is to be able to take care of the girls until they graduate from high school, or in some cases, re-integrate them to their families.
At hogar Miguel Leon the girls have a good environment full of responsible, loving people who are always concerned about their needs.
Description of the work
Most of the work at Hogar Miguel Leon basically involves recreation, the centre needs somebody that can organize activities for the children, such as games and other things, also, somebody that could help them with their homework and be able to teach them about the importance of hygiene and doing their daily chores at the hogar.
There is a big field that the children use to sow vegetables for their use, this has proven to be a great idea because they are always aware of their crops and how to improve them, so helping them out might be a very nice thing.
Also, the centre at the moment needs a lot of maintenance work, the conditions of the place are not the best because they haven’t been able to pay for repair work.
Keep in mind
You are going to work with kids who very fast make strong bonds. They will miss you and feel sad if you don’t show up to work and it is important that you with anticipation tell them when you are going to leave. Clue words in your work are respect and confidence.
